Dear Friends,
In Wasiwaska we have around three hundred species of plants. We have now several hives of Melipona, stingless bees, responsible for the pollination of 90% of the species of the Atlantic Coastal Forest.
In the State of Santa Catarina there are 27 native species of stingless bees, some of them in danger of extinction.
Two years ago, we took a course with Sr. Waldomiro to learn the basics of keeping Melipona bees. We have currently five beehives of Melipona quadrifasciata.
We wish to buy 15 more beehives to be placed along the stone path already created.
We calculated the costs as follows :
Total amount: US$3670.
