Jordi Ribas
Jordi Riba was born in 1968 in Barcelona. He obtained a degree in Pharmacy in 1993 and received his PhD in Pharmacology in 2003, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with a thesis on the human pharmacology of ayahuasca. Between 2004 and 2006 he did his post-doc in Germany where he trained in neuropsychological assessment and functional magnetic resonance imaging.
Since 2006 he is an Associate Researcher at the Drug Research Center of the Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona, where he has conducted a series of clinical studies involving the administration of ayahuasca to experienced psychedelic/entheogen users. These studies have assessed the phamacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of ayahuasca, including alkaloid disposition, and electroencephalography and neuroimaging measures of acute ayahuasca effects. The results of these studies have been published in various scientific journals like Psychopharmacology, Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Journal of Psychoactive Drugs. He is currently conducting a neuropsychological study assessing the effects of long-term ayahuasca use.
Karen Helle Grue
Karen Helle Grue (born 1949) is a Transpersonal Psychoterapist, MPF. trained as Jungian Analyst, Bodytherapy at Bodynamic Institute, Shamanic Councelor at Scandinavian Center for Shamanic Studies, Certified from Grof Transpersonal Training, Meditation at Nordlyscentret, hypnosis working with the dimension of previous lives and between lives and Somatic Experience. Karen has worked as therapist, lecturer and teacher within Transpersonal Therapy since 1986. Before that she worked with visual art and craft, mostly as a set designer, and participated in founding several alternative projects, communities and companies.
The fee for this seminar is $2,200 Euros per person, everything included, except airfare: i.e. transportation to and from the airport, double occupancy, all meals and laundry. The seminar also includes several excursions around the beautiful Island of Santa Catarina, as well as other activities.
