June 25-July 8, 2007: “Shamanistic
Consciousness: "The Exploration of the Supernatural
and Its Role in Human Evolution”.
A Seminar with Graham
Hancock, writer, and Santha
Faiia, photographer.
Graham is the author of the major international
bestsellers The Sign and The Seal, Fingerprints
of the Gods and Heaven's Mirror. His books
have sold more than five million copies worldwide
and have been translated into 27 languages.
His public lectures and TV appearances, including
the three-hour series Quest For The Lost Civilisation,
have put his ideas before audiences of tens
of millions. He has become recognised as an
unconventional thinker who raises legitimate
questions about humanity's history and prehistory
and offers an increasingly popular challenge
to the entrenched views of orthodox scholars. See

Born in Penang, Malaysia, Santha
Faiia is
a professional photographer specialising
in ancient cultures and monuments. Her work
has been published around the world in major
newspapers and magazines. Santha’s
recent work in collaboration with husband
Graham Hancock produced some of her most
inspiring images culled from sacred sites
across the globe. Published works such as
Heaven’s Mirror, Underworld
and Supernatural reveal her rare gift for
capturing the spirit of these ancient sites.
Fifty thousand
years ago humans had no art, no religion, no
sophisticated symbolism, and no innovative
thinking. Then, in a dramatic and enigmatic
change, the skills and qualities that we value
most highly in ourselves appeared already fully
formed, as though bestowed on us by hidden
powers. How did this happen?
In this workshop we set out to investigate this
mysterious turn of events and explore the influences
that gave birth to the modern human mind.
Through a series of four lectures and follow-up
discussions, we will:
• Learn about the development
of modern human consciousness;
• Gain insights into the latest scientific
findings concerning the role played by shamanistic
altered states of consciousness in the imagery
of supernatural beings painted on the walls of
prehistoric caves around the world;
• Examine the range of techniques shamans
from different cultures have developed to enter
and manipulate altered states of consciousness;
• Explore the intriguing interconnections
between the beings who shamans refer to as "spirits",
who medieval Europeans knew as "fairies",
and who are construed in the developed countries
today as 'aliens' or 'greys'.
• Investigate the links between ancient
Egyptian spirituality and shamanistic inquiries
into the mysteries of life after death. This
workshop is for anyone interested in shamanism,
human evolution, and the nature of consciousness
and reality.
In addition I will give one further lecture
titled 'As Above So Below', which will be a
visit to many ancient and mysterious architectural
sites around the world.
All lectures will be richly
illustrated with slides.
The fee for each
seminar is $2,900 (US), everything included, except
airfare: i.e. transportation from and to
the airport, double occupancy, excursions,
all activities, meals and laundry. The
seminars include also several excursions around the
beautiful Island of Santa Catarina, Portuguese
lessons as well as other activities.
All seminars
will be open for a maximum of twelve participants,
double accommodation. If you are interested
in further information, please contact me
at luna@wasiwaska.org.
